Journal Figure Studio

Problem#

Research figures are often assembled late, by hand, and without enough provenance to reproduce the exact file that went to the journal.

What it does#

• Treats each figure as a small, auditable package: the data, the analysis script, the rendered files, the caption and an audit record.
• Renders at the final print width using a cross-disciplinary design system and a versioned registry of journal profiles.
• Supports multi-panel layouts with shared axes.
• A final package check exits with an error when a required output, profile requirement or provenance file is missing.

It does not claim blanket journal compliance. Journal profiles are built from each journal’s current author instructions.

Engineering#

MIT licensed, with a CI test suite. It also ships as a Codex skill, so an AI coding assistant can run the same validated workflow.
